Snapshot Sunday

The Spring of the year is always my favorite at the farm. Trees and Crimson Clover as far as the eye can see.

Tap Dancing in Washington, DC

Last weekend I made my annual trip to Washington, DC for my dancers to perform with the All-Star Tap Team in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade. Dancers from our studio have been performing in this parade for several years, but since I am all “grown-up” now, I have been the responsible studio adult in Washington. This year six dancers represented the studio and we had a great time! My friend from college, Kyla, went with me for our road-trip weekend. In between the Friday night rehearsal with all 650 dancers from across the country and the parade on Saturday morning we were able to be tourists. Yes, I’m talking about trudging around DC to see the memorials, bookbag on, camera around the neck, map in hand and sweatshirt tied around the waist and all type tourists! We got to visit Arlington Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Old Post Office Building, Union Station and much more. I will say the highlight of my trip was that we met my cousin, Justin, for dinner on Friday night since he lives in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of DC. He works in commercial real estate so he took us to the roofs of a few buildings in DC late Friday night and the views were could take your breath away. We even got to experience the view from the historical Watergate building. Office building hopping was definitely a different way of seeing our nation’s capitol and will be a memorable experience!

Snapshot Sunday!

I love living in North Carolina! I am so convenient to landmarks and attactions that people drive from all over the country to visit. This is Duke University's Chapel in the springtime when the flowers come into bloom.

All the children of the world.

Red or yellow, black or white, they are precious in his sight.

Jesus loves the little children of the world."

A Beach Wedding

Last weekend I traveled to Emerald Isle, NC with friends for a wedding for Lori one of our good friends from ECU. Lori and Brian rented a beach house on the beach and had a beautiful ceremony on the beach followed by a fun reception throughout the house on patio surrounding the pool. This is the house where the wedding took place. It was a beautiful house with a lot of personality.

The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous. After raining all day on Saturday the clouds went away and the ceremony was beautiful. The sun wasn't the only thing that came out to play. Dolphins and pelicans created a great backdrop for the ceremony.
It is always fun when our college friends get together. Especially for such a fun occasion like Lori and Brian's wedding. I can't wait for thenext opportunity for all of us to get together again.
