Buffalo Wild Wings
Just like Kenny Chesney says, “My Only Friends are Pirates”.. ok well.. I have friends who aren't pirates too! But some of my very best friends are pirates! Seven years ago I began my college career at ECU. Little did I know the people that I shared a dorm, ate dining hall food, walked to classes, went to the Rec Center and attended FCA with on Monday nights would become my family. We helped each other through everything. Learning how to live on our own, making trips to the grocery store, learning how to cook and clean and solve life’s little problems – we got through them all. One of my favorite quotes says “The best memories are from the nights that turn into mornings and the friends that turn into family.” This is truly what we did. Since college we have all gone our separate ways and live in different towns, and unfortunately we don’t spend every waking moment together like we did for four wonderful years. When we all have a chance to get together we make the best out of it, and making the best of our time together – we certainly do! Last Saturday night, fifteen of us gathered at the new Buffalo Wild Wings at Southpoint Mall for a reunion. First we were excited to see each other and second we were beyond excited to eat at “Bdubs.” We ate at Bdubs all the time when we were in college. They have the best wings a pirate could ask for! The closest Buffalo Wild Wings to Raleigh is either Greenville, NC or Burlington, NC. Having a grand opening in our vicinity is very exciting. Most of us have not had the opportunity to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings since we graduated and our meal Saturday night was like heaven! We are a very talkative group and did not stop talking the whole dinner. But as soon as our food arrived, our large table of 15 hardly said a word. Sadly, not everyone could make it to our reunion Saturday night but we had a great time with those who could make it! We will be having many more Bdubs dinners now that we can have a taste of purple and gold so close to home.

Snapshot Sunday!
I took this picture at a candlelight vigil last April. A vast array of thoughts come to my mind when I look at this candle. I feel it captures feelings of isolated sadness, but it also exemplifies how one candle can bring a beautiful light to darkness. It shows how we as individuals can continue to shine our light to others when they may be in their darkness. Just a smile can brighten someone's day and completely turn it around.

Olympic Trials
Last weekend Cary, North Carolina hosted the 2012 US Olympic Team Trials for Table Tennis. I have never seen a table tennis match but I couldn't wait for the opportunity to attend the Olympic Trials to see what real ping pong "athletes" look like. On Sunday, I went with three friends to watch the last day of the team trials in Bond Park. There were two gyms set-up with three matches going on at the same time. In order to move forward the player had to win the best of seven matches, 11 points for each match. Over the course of the weekend the players had to play eleven matches.
We watched women's and men's matches. The men's matches were much more entertaining to watch. They yelled a lot and would stand at least ten feet away from the table. At the close of the day we got to see the top four women and top four men from the weekend who will be moving forward to the Olympics in London this summer. I can't wait to tune in this summer and watch them on tv!

A Super Bowl Surprise
On Sunday the whole country tuned in to watch the Giants play against the Patriots for the 2012 Super Bowl. I love getting together with my friends to watch the Super Bowl. We always have great food, fun conversation, laughs at the commercials and voice our opinions on the halftime show. Of course we also watch the football game too!
This year I used my new favorite website Pinterest to find the perfect recipe to add to the night's festivities. This recipe is a fun twist to pigs & a blanket. You basically make a cornbread muffin with a hot dog cooked in the center. Let me know if you would like for me to share this recipe with you - it was a hit! The Super Bowl Party was also a great reason for all of us to get together and celebrate my friend Travis' 25th Birthday. However none of us realized there was surprise that was in store. Less than an hour before kick-off my dear friend from college, Chris, proposed to his girlfriend Leanne (another ECU alum). The newly engaged couple were able to share their excitement with all of us at the Birthday/Super Bowl Party. What a fun night, Sunday was! If you would like to follow Leanne's blog, I'm sure she will be telling us all about her wedding plans. Check her out at http://pinchanddashoflife.blogspot.com/

Snapshot Sunday!
Today is the big day! Super Bowl Sunday 2012. I love football but I honestly don't pay very much attention to the NFL. I'm pretty sure I just found out yesterday who will be playing in today's big game. I believe it is the Giants and the Patriots. (But I wouldn't bet on it). I love the Super Bowl for the food, the commercials and the half-time show. I absolutely love College Football and everything about it! So today's Snapshot is dedicated to my favorite college football team. Go ECU Pirates!
